I have put some cams back online. I also pulled out a computer that I had rebuilt a year or so ago. So I think I only have about 5 of my cams up right now, but more to come. Just gotta decide what I am going to broadcast to the public. I am 90 % SURE that I wont be putting the PTZ cam back up in the living room. The zoom feature gets on my families nerves. And the only time the zoom is used with me in the room, well, it goes to my feet. Now, I don't care if someone likes my feet... Strange, but I don't care. But like I said, the family doesn't like the zoom feature. So I might use that camera out front.I am thinkin' about just a USB cam in the living room.Still looking for a guestbook that when people sign, it comes to my e-mail for approval first. If I can't find one I might just give the idea up. I have made so many friends all over the world, but it isn't worth it to have a guestbook when you have one or two assholes that ruin everything you have had for 10 plus years.....And I shouldn't need to check my guestbook twice a day....This site has been around for a long time, but I wont deal with sad sacks of shit who have far to much time on their hands. Put I do save every e-mail, comment, and message that has ever been sent to me. Along with IP addy's. Might put this info to use one day...........

Anyway, tried my hand at flat iron steaks tonight. First time using this cut of meat. I rubbed down 9 steaks with two different spices from Penzeys Spices... This company is great! Both spices were really good, but I might have cooked the flat iron steaks just a bit to long. This cut of meat might have been better a little on the rare side. Not that I family would have liked pink meat.... But everyone seemed to like it. Also cooked up some tiny tators, onions, and peppers on the grill. And a nice side of rice. I have a Brisket to smoke soon, some chicken legs and thighs to smoke and pull, and some great looking pork steaks to grill soon.God I love cooking out.Have four Webers on the back deck, and love cooking every night!
So for those that still drop in, look for the cameras to come back, and might even add more... If only to piss off those that don't like me.........................

I just can't let it go. With all the computer,monitor,and asshole problems here I was on the edge about giving it all up.
But I have shut a good bit of stuff down as I try to rebuild. I have two computers in the shop getting the virus removed and the systems cleaned up. I am going to be looking for a new monitor, and try to decide how the new site will look. Also going to look for a new guestbook that I can have more control over. OR no guestbook at all. Haven't decided.
So things will be down for a while, as I rebuild and regroup.

The End?

For the few of you that still come to this site...
You may have noticed that the living room, and front door cam have been down for a few days. Also, the IR porch cam has been down for 3 to 6 months now. Also, one of my kitchen cameras, or the dining room cam ( depends on the day) has been down for a long while now. You may also notice that my back yard PTZ cam is acting up. As it does every winter because of the cold weather.
The front room cameras being down are due to a massive virus that I can't seem to get rid of. And this seems to be the cameras that most people hit. The kitchen/dining room cameras are on a machine that has problems also. A bug or two, and a broken monitor that my fist ran into one night. Nothing much more to say about that...
And that leaves the back room computer. It seems to be running ok. And not much I can do about the cold weather.

Anyway, all this has me a little upset. I have had this site for MANY years. And I still WANT to run this site. As always, I will say I don't know why. I just know I want to.But with all the problems adding up, I wonder if it is worth fighting for anymore. The family has really never liked it. But my wonderful wife has let me do this. As my daughter gets older she has learned to hate the cams. My boy still doesn't care one way or the other.
What I am tryin' to say is this...... I don't know if I will fix anything anymore...
It breaks my heart to think about this site going away, and I have made so many friends all over the world. But with the family being upset, computer virus, broken monitors, and money issues, it might be time to let it go...
I understand that very few people drop in on our crazy little family life. And as I have said for years, I don't even know why I want to do it so bad. I just know I WANT TOO!!!! But it is getting to hard to take care of.
So I gotta figure out what to do from here.
As always, just venting. But I will let you know before I close it all down, or if I decide to fix it all.

Oh, the fun of having a tiny little webcam site.... blah..
Besides the few idiots that visit me and write crap on my guest book. Or the crazy e-mail here and there, I am still here. Still don't know why. But I can't bring myself to pull the plug. After all these years, I just can't do it.

Last post I said I was sick of turkeys. And I still am. But that hasn't stopped my outdoor kitchen from putting out some damn fine food. Just not turkeys...For Christmas, my wife really came through. Lots of goodies for my smoker,and charcole grill. Take tonight. I had a beer can chicken going on my new gas grill. And a rotisserie chicken spinnin' above some kingsford coals on my other grill. I know, sick of turkey, but cooking two chickens at once on two different grills....But man, was it some juicy chicken. Believe I am going to try to do my first brisket soon. I also had a temp. control device (DigiQ DX2) for my smoker under the tree. So I think I will take the plunge and cook what some people say is one of the hardest meats to smoke. We will see.
Was out of town for a few days, but now that I am back I need to catch up at work and then finish my outdoor projects. Lot of storage builds to work on. A pool that still isn't closed all the way, and some garden boxes to build for next summer.

Too many damn turkeys..

This year I went a little over board. In a short two weeks I have cooked four turkeys. I have feed four groups of people, and I don't believe anyone has left hungry. My neighbors wanted to try my deep fried turkey, and I believe they were very happy with the end product. I also smoked my first turkey this year. And it was really good. The brine was great, and the bird was juicy. BUT, it still doesn't touch a deep fried bird. Now, what to cook for Christmas.........NO MORE TURKEYS THIS YEAR............
I am going to cook for my staff this year. Will have a little Christmas get together for them. But I think I will make this meal a BBQ feast. Pulled pork, baby back ribs, bbq baked beans, baked mac n cheese, rolls, and for the finish................chocolate covered bacon....
And knowing me like I do, a few drinks.......................Just a few.......................
Will write more tonight if I can. I plan to do some changing to this website.

Too much meat..

Well, The new smoker did come, and I have already put it to go use.
Smoke #1 Was three racks of baby back ribs, and a beer-can-chicken. And that was just the top rack. I could have cooked much more.
Smoke #2 was four, count them, four pork butts. Not sure why they call them butts, but whatever. My daughter had a sleep over with 9 other girls running all over the house, so I hid outdoors over night smoking these 27 + pounds of pork. I started them at 7Pm, and pulled them at 6Am. Let them rest in foil for 1.5 hours, then pulled the pork.
Smoke #3 was a crap load of Atomic Buffalo Turds. And a Fatty. If you don't know what that is you need to look it up! Kinda like a heart attack from just looking at it.
I love this Weber Smokey Mountain. So much better then my old Brinkman (E.C.B.)
"The wife" always makes me feel good when I cook. She says she would rather have my cooking any day then going out to eat.
Weather is a changing, it will be time to close the pool soon. And I have some building projects for the back deck before it gets too bad. Just need to get off my butt and move I guess.
I have added some pictures of my cooking. Hope to add some more beach pictures soon. IF the Outer Banks is fixed up after the storm.. Haven't heard about the section we are going to.
Also hope to have my remote cameras up for this trip.
My guest book doesn't seem to work 95% of the time, and I don't believe I will work hard to fix it. To many damn idiots out there. I just delete most of the bad stuff. No free speech here. Just MY speech. People want to say hi, that's great, people want to talk about my kids, or say things they shouldn't, well, just say goodbye and be on your way.

Outdoor Cooking..

I love to cook outdoors.
I said, I LOVE to cook outdoors.
I fire up my grill about 3 to 4 times a week. It might be my gas grill, or my Weber charcoal grill, my Brinkmann gourmet smoker (E.C.B.),my deep fryer, or even my tiny little A-MAZE-N smoker. And after someone tasted my pulled pork and placed an order for twenty (20!!!!) pork butts, I might go ahead and order the Weber Smokey Mountain 22.5 inch smoker.Still wont be big enough, but it would add to my outdoor kitchen! Nothing like cooking outdoors...Give me some raw meat, (suck it vegetarians), a beer, and some free time, I am making smoke! Nothing like sitting up for 18 hours or more in the middle of the night with Hickory and Apple smoke in the wind while you smoke 10 to 12 Lbs. of pork.

Tonight is a happy night. The boy and the girl will be going to bed early because the first day of school is in the A.M.! Oh happy days................ It will suck a bit, home work every night, earlier dinners, baths, packing school lunches, etc.. But The WIFE and I will have our Thursdays alone, the kids will be forced to go to bed at an earlier time, ((again), alone time for me and the wife!),
and less BABY SITTER time.. And trust me, that's a good thing.

Anyway, the kids are going to bed now, time for me to say goodnight to them and you.

Beer and Mead

Trying to get back into the home brewing hobby.. I have managed to brew two batches up, and they are ready to keg.
I spent most of the day a while back to clean a few kegs, beer lines, chest cooler, etc. I kegged up a Mead, and hooked up an old keg of barley wine. But my chest cooler isn't working 100% right now. Only cooling to about 48 degrees. Like most things around here, it needs work.

Grew some great veggies this year. More tomatoes then we need. Lots of different hot peppers, corn, onions, etc. Can't wait till next year, I plan to add more garden space. It was all just a test to see if I could grow stuff, and I think I passed.

ALAIN, send me an email again. I haven't been on top of my e-mail, or website much, and I can't seem to find your address. Wife said she is ready to fly to France! Hope you have room for us all!!

Happy Independence Day.

We are home. Vacation is over. Life goes back to "normal", what ever that is.
It was a great holiday, and now is the time to plan next years trip.
The wife and I keep talking about somewhere new. Florida keeps pooping up, but I don't know if the kids can take a 14 hour drive. They have a hard time with 10 hours in a car. And that is with toys, two T.V.'s, DVD players, computers, snacks, etc. They still fight and bicker half the time. And that makes me an unhappy driver.
I just want to find a nice family style beach, not to many people, and a place to relax.

So this being the 4th, I will be grilling today.. But then again, I grill more then most people, but it should be the law to grill on the 4th of July!
Will be grilling a Beer Can Chicken today, maybe some grilled potatoes and peppers, corn on the cob, and what ever else sounds good to the family.

Tuesday it's back to work. I am sure I have a lot to catch up on. The wife had to go in today for a few hours to try to get some things done. But that was three hours ago, and she still isn't home. She works far to hard, and I worry she is going to burn out one day. She needs more help from us all..

Sand....Beach.....North Carolina..........

Well, I am not home. But I guess the people that visit my little camera site know that.
I never tell people before I go out of town. You know, security reasons, but I have things buttoned down very well. So here it is, The family and I have hit the beach in the Outer Banks. Tonight will be night two, and so far things are going very well. Not great, but it is VACATION!
I look out the window, and watch the sun rise.Drinking lots of different, great beers, and dig holes in the sand all day long.
I can't add my "remote" cams this vacation, but will try to get one or two running soon. When I do, I will post the addy for those cams. I will use ww.com to broadcast, but if you go to that site, be careful, lots of old, or bald, or old and bald guys on that site doing things I would rather not see. It is never what you would call a family friendly site. But, the camera streaming works welll for what it is. Do get me wrong, a few great people on that site. BUT, few and far between.
To Tim who wrote me on the guest book.
The backyard camera and the living room camera is the same model. It is a very old Picturetel PTZ-1. I found these old cameras on E-bay. They are hard to come by, and harder to find ones that still work. But the picture is one of the best I think. I use software from a guy on the net. It is called BDLCAM. His name is Brian also, and he lets people download and use this for free, but does take donations. I hate that I have never gave to him, even though I have used his software for 8 to 10 years. That being said, I have had problems with the living room controls for a good long time now. BUT, I really have no idea what I am doing. As you can tell by my website. Not the best looking thing in the world huh....
I had to make the cables to make BDL talk to the PTZ, but it was all fun. Add a bunch of cheap webcams, and a few IR cameras, and I have my site....
And by the way, thanks Tim for a nice post on my guest book. Seems like I get some crazy ones now and again.
Will give you all a link to beach cams when I get them up!

Lots and lots of hits on my website today. Not sure why, but I am getting pounded hard.
If anyone knows why, let me know.
But just to recap, this is just a small FAMILY web cam site. We don't do much around here, and you will never see nudity, or anything bad here. Just a hobby for me, and a nice add on to my security system. People from all over the world drop in from time to time, and I am still not sure why. BUT I find it cool, and I guess some of the people that come here find it cool also.
Just a family, lots of pets, and the insane life that goes with it.

Brew Day is coming up.

May the 7th is Big brew day.. But I guess I should explain..
Big Brew is a celebration of National Homebrew Day (May 7th). Each year home brewers around the world invite family and friends to their brewing site on the first Saturday in May to celebrate the holiday. Everyone is encouraged to help out with the brew, enjoy the fun and join in on a world-wide toast at noon Central time.

And this year, it looks like more members of our local home brewing club will be brewing together then in the past few years. I love this get together more then any of the other monthly meetings.
And this year I will miss it... The wife and I will be going on a little trip. Just a little alone time at our first bed and breakfast. So, I might be missing big brew this year, I think our little trip will be really fun.
So, since I wont be here to brew with my fellow club members, I plan to brew this Saturday instead. I am going to start at noon. I will be brewing an all grain, ten gallon batch, of Caribou Slobber! A nice looking Brown Ale.
Wish me luck. I haven't made a batch of beer for a while, but I plan to chance that this summer. After all, I have four empty taps in my back room.. Would love to be able to pull any beer at any time!

OK people, I had to say it before, and now I find myself doing it again..
This is a family webcam site. The family deals with my crazy little hobby, but they don't like it most of the time. That being said, some of you people need to stop with the zoom feature on the living room camera. You don't need to zoom in on my wife,s face so damn close. And my daughter doesn't need to be looked at so closely. I will just turn the webcam controls off if need be. Or if it keeps up, I will just start blocking people. And if that isn't good enough, I guess I will shut it down to the outside world all together.

Oh, and "Peter" from ww.com. I don't need your comments.. OK? Thanks.

Keep it clean, be nice to my family, or be gone..
This was just a nice hobby for me, and I have meet some wonderful people here. I don't want to end it but I will. After 6 or 7 years with these cameras it is sad that I am getting all the ass holes all at once.

Wow, two post, one day!

After I decided to write here this morning, it made me want to work on my site again. I have been on the net for years with these webcams, sometimes they work, sometimes some are down, and I never blog. Opps, ramblin' again. Anyway, I found an unused webcam sitting around so I replaced the dining room camera. And it works really well. But I guess it should. It was high dollar when I picked it up a year or so ago. And it was the exact same camera that I had running. So, since I can't see what I am doing on my monitor, I just shut it down, changed the cams, and reboot. Has a great picture for the 4 or 5 people that drop in my home.
Off to order stuff for my brew day April 16th.

Hello Again..

Well I would say that it has been a long time.
I would say that I will start writing more, but I say that all the time.
So I will just write today, and see how long it takes me to post again.

Lots of things have been going on since I wrote last, but I wont go into everything.
On the webcam side, I still struggle with the cameras. The front room cam controls still dont work 99% of the time. And my dinning room cam seems to be out of focus. I would love to fix that camera, but someone....but a fist into the monitor.... I had a little bit of a temper tantrum one day. I was an idiot. I struggle with my feelings sometimes, and I taught myself a good lesson that day.
Things are much better at our house now. And I am working on being a better person.. Well, I try..

The weather was really nice for a week and I go started on my squarefoot gardens. But then it turned cold again. But it was enough to give me and my wife the fever. Lots of outdoor projects coming up. And the pool will need to be worked on soon. Kids can't wait to swim.

Also planning on brewin' some beer the 16th of April. It has been far to long. I have four empty taps in my laundry room. So I plan to jump in head first and try to get them full before summer really gets here. The 16th I will be doing a batch of Caribou Slobber! A nice brown Ale.
I am also planning on getting my remote cams running again. The front porch camera is still down and in need of a video capture device.
I just really wish I could get BDLCAM to work in the living room. I know people love to move cams! And this software is kicking my butt.
Fayetteville, West Virginia

Going to take a trip down to Fayetteville, West Virginia in May. A friend told me about a nice bed and breakfast and the wife and I really, really need to get away. It will only be a short two day trip, but should be really nice. Then THE beach trip in June!! We don't get out much, so this beach trip is the best time of the year.. Outer Banks, get ready for us!!
Don't know if anyone will see this, but feels good to rant and rave, and write once in a while...

Been a while....as always...

Not sure if anyone even comes around anymore, but thought I might write a little today. So, if I am talking to myself, so be it!
The site is still up and crawlin' along. I am down one camera (the front porch) and even if people didn't look at this camera, I used it as security. I also haven't turned on the remote cams for some time. But then again, I am never really remote...Just work. And I am still wanting to put up a camera or two from work, just haven't done it yet. Oh, and I also forgot how to point webcamxp from a laptop to my webcamxp at home..... I know I could do it other ways, just need to light that fire under my butt again. This little hobby site has been up for 5 years or so and I come and go with the idea of just getting rid of it. But I would miss it, so I stumble along day to day.
Oh, and the other problem I have.... The reason I have lost a few of the visitors that did come here, the camera that moves in my living room... 98% of the time, it doesn't move... I don't know if it is the camera going bad, or the new version of the software that I use to move it. I don't have a way to pull the old software of the back yard computer and I really don't know how to test the camera in the living room... I just know people like to move cameras, and without a reboot of said software every 5 minutes or so, it wont move.
But enough about the site. It will stay up, for me and the few that visit, or one day I will just close it all down.
I have been smoking lots of meat this month, and boy is it good. But I do love to cook. Give me a beer and a grill and I am happy......
Weather is going down hill, so I guess I should start thinking about the pool. I didn't close it last year, and I PAID for it later... NOT this year... I will bust my butt to get it right.

I Hurt...

Hey people.
A few updates for ya.
My site was down for a good while. Something to do with the server that it is on. And I can't do much when that happens. I have a friend that takes care of it for me.
But the site is back on line now. It does look like my living room computer is now out for the count. So I have lost three cameras. I have a computer to replace this one, but I doubt that I will ever be able to find half the programs I had running on it. Or the software for most of the video capture devices that I have installed. Not to mention get the BDL software to move the living room camera. I had help getting it running many years ago, and don't believe I know how to do it.
But, this all needs to wait anyway. I was in the hospital Friday getting my gut cut open. I had that two year old hernia that needed fixed. So now I wobble around all day in a bit of pain. I was told not to lift more then a gallon of milk for like 6 weeks! So I know I will not be moving any computers for a while.
Will let you know more later, need to go lay down.

My wife is the greatest. She is going to let me take a trip to Germany this September.
I shouldn't talk to long about the trip, because every time I think about it I start to worry. I have not been away from my family this long before, and I have only been in about 6 of the states here. Let alone fly around to the other side of the planet. In a perfect world I would be able to take the family with me. But school will be starting around that time, and the wife can't walk away from work for that long. I don't know much about travel, so I still need to figure out a lot of things. And I doubt my cell will work in Germany. Computer access? Credit cards, bank card? I have no idea.. Guess I will figure it out one way or the other.
I plan to take about 5000 pics, so watch for them in about 6 months!
Speaking of pictures, I have seen pics from two people who check out my site once in a while. If you come here once in a while, drop me a picture! Would be great to see pics of people who watch me and my family!
That is if anyone really comes here, or reads this blog.

Well, I am back as much as I can be. Still don't know about bloggin' and such, but it is easier to write once in a while when I now no more then 2 or 3 people might read it.
But, I am back for now.
I will post a few things here that I wanted to say. If this doesn't work I will post in my own comment section.
#1 Two of my cameras move. They are set up so that you can move them. And they will let one person move them for a set number of seconds, then someone else gets a turn.For what ever reason, some one likes to get on the camera controls and move it AWAY from the people in my house. Now if that someone was doing it to protect something, like one of my kids forgot the cameras were on or something, that would be great... More then great. But I notice this happens more and more when me and the wife are in the room and nothing is going on. Someone just moves the camera to a wall or something, and keeps it on the wall as long as possible. I have yet to look at the IP log to see who is doing this, but if it keeps up I will. Or, I will just stop the camera movement all together.
#2 Same with the backyard cam. Someone likes to move it up to the sky and leave it. Now, it has been cold, and no one is in the back yard, but the sun might damage the camera beyond repair. And these cams are very hard to come by. So please stop. Or again, I willtake the movement off line.
#3 I have also noticed that some people might forget they have my cameras pulled up. Case in point. Someone has been on my #2 kitchen camera for more then 20 hours! lol, Now, they really like dirty dishes, or they are smarter then me and somehow are recording this camera, or they just have it hidden under other windows. I guess it doesn't hurt me. Little bit of bandwidth being pulled, but not to many people come here. So does it hurt me? I don't know. It might slow other people down when they are tryin to watch. But I really don't know. Insanitycam has been online for , what, 5 to 7 years? And I still don't know anything about the net side of things. Hell, I don't even know how to pull my stats. Or if I even can, without asking the friend who host this site for me. And he has far to much on his hands to worry about me. But just wanted to say, if you open a window into my little world here, be sure to close it when you are done. UNLESS you really like my dirty dishes... And if you do like it dirty, donate to my site!!!!!! LOL
#4, I done forgot the rest of the numbers, and here I sit still hitting the keyboard like a drunk monkey....
But like I said, I am here, the family is still here, and this is still a nice little view into a West Virginia FAMILY home. Thank you people who drop in to visit. Don't know why you do, but I plan to keep it running for a long while.
Oh,and the IP on the kitchen watcher, seems to be coming from Kansas. So if it is a real IP and you live in Kansas, check to see if you have a window open! LOL

Now what..

I am still here. And I broke my own rules again by fixing three cameras that went down.
Well, first the server that insanitycam is on was down for a day or so. Then when it went back online, my living room computer started acting up. I believe it is in the cat5 wire under the house. I have replaced the network card twice, but it doesn't seem to be the problem. Funny thing is, it comes and goes. So right now I have cat5 wire #2 running all over the house. Can't wait for the wife to see that.
I didn't cover the pool this winter, and now I am payin' for it. It was a nasty shade of green when the ice melted...Not to mention scummmmmmm... I have added a ton of chemicals, and now have the pool a loverly shade of blue... Of well, a week or so longer, it might be ok.
If I ever come up with the extra cash, I will get the two kitchen cameras back up. Also looking at a PTZ cam in the front yard.

Been a while..

Well, my break from the website is still ongoing. I want to fix things, add more cameras, and post more to the blog, but just can't get moving on it. I know of about three people who watch and follow this sad little site. I am sorry that I haven't wrote them for a while. I am sad that I have cameras down and don't fix, or pay for the software to keep them up or add more... And I still have no idea what direction I want to go. I will decide soon I guess.

Anyway after 30 years or so, I have finally went to the doctor. It started with a tumor my wife found under my right arm. I have also had a hernia for 2 to 4 years, and I haven't felt "healthy" for years. The turns out the tumor is no big deal. I can live with it. The hernia, well I go see some other doctor about it the first week of March. Blood work looks good for the most part. A few numbers I am worried about, but will talk to my Dr. about them in about two weeks. But at 39 years old, I am in better shape then I would have thought. Bad habits and all...

I have been moved up to Vice- president of the homebrew club here. (I missed a club meeting, and they voted without me being there..) Makes me feel even worse that I haven't brewed for a while! Guees I need to change that.. Soon...
I will also be taking over the Mountain Brewer Open. It is West Virginia's big home brew competition. Beers come in from all over the good ol USA. We will see how it goes this July...
I figure I will need a good bit of help this year. But getting people to come help and drink great beer all day seems hard to do. Go figure..

So, long story short. I will get my two kitchen cams up soon and add two to four more cameras. OR I will let them all crash over time and not fix them.
I will try to get my body fixed as best I can and get in shape, or I will let it crash also... Most times I don't care one way or the other...
I will also try to brew more beer, mead and other adult beverages this year, or continue spending money to purchase drinks I can make myself...

So you see, it is ALL up in the air!
Only thing I know for sure.....Outer Banks N.C. in July!!!!!!!!! If I make it to July! I plan to take a few of my kegs down. Visit the two breweries that are close, have them filled, and sit my somewhat fat ass on the beach for a week!
If I can, I will set up a webcam or two from the beach house that week. Don't worry, it will be pointed at something besides my fat ass!

I am still sitting back for a while, but thought I would drop a line or two.
I have had a number of e-mails, and a few comments on the blog about this site. I was happy to read them all, and the support has been great.The e-mails were really great, and I am very happy that over the years I have made some good friends. From all over the world. I have never been the best about writing back most of the time, but I do love the idea that I have talked to people from most corners of the earth. The site seems to be crawling along. I have lost the two kitchen cameras, the WebcamXP free trial ran out, and it now only works one camera. It would cost about $75 US dollars? (I think) for one computer withlots of cams, or add 40 to 50 $ more for 2 to 4 computers.That was the direction I was wanting to go in the past. It $130 would open up the option of many more cameras.And I do have two more computers sitting here now, but don't have the cash for WebcamXPright now. And still don't feel 100%. If I can't do it right, If I can't keep these computers running right,if I don't give it everything I have, why do it? These are some of the things that run around in my head when ever I think about my site.
So things will continue as is. If I come up with the cash for the software, if I decide to fix some of these computer issues, (and can figure out how to do so), If I can figure out how to make the site look like it SHOULD, I will. But for now, I am just here.
Again, thank you guys for the e-mails. I am sorry I am the way I am and never write back like I should.

Gonna take a break from the blog, web site, e-mails, etc.....
The cameras will be up unless something happens.
I am not feeling the best right now, in any way, and need a break.
For the Three people that have dropped me an e-mail, and you know who you are, I hope to be back soon. I promise to write soon, but not just yet. Not to happy about anything right now,and it will take me a while to sit down and write back.
As I said, if cameras kick off line, I wont fix them, if they stay up, so be it. But until I am better, I am stepping back for a while.

December update.........

Well, after the last post, I am not sure what to say.
I am still here. The computers are still messed up.
Work, home life, and everything else, is still the same.
We did get a nice snow. Not what the weather man and woman called for, but is it ever?
They never have any idea what is going on. And they never will. But we did have about 3 or 4 inches. We were looking for 12 inches or so, but go figure...............
I have almost given up on this site. It is still up,I guess. I don't check the cams much anymore. But I haven't turned stuff off yet. So I guess things are ok.

I just spent close to four hours making a great dinner. It had more things in it then anything I have ever made. It was so much fun to cook. It was also very nice to eat. BUT, it wasn't as good as I thought it was going to be. Come on..... so much work. It was really good. But, so, much workkkkkk.
Going to have christmas dinner for the staff around 4pm Monday. Some great food for that also. Don't know if they care , or just want free food and gifts. But we will do it.

Looking for a reason to keep the site up....
Looking for a reason to get up in the morning........ What ever.......

I am sick of fighting the computer issues. And I have never really known why I do this in the firrst place... Right now I am running three desk top computers for this site 24/7.
One computer works 25% of the time for family use.
One DOESN"T work for family use, but puts the cameras out???? Why one way but not the other? Hell, I can't use IE or Firefox without this computer shutting down within 40 seconds.
The third, Well you can surf, but click a link and walk away for 5 minutes or more... Then the site you asked for might show up.
So I am sick of computer problems. The only computer that works well is my trusty laptop. And I just took it to a friend to get rid of a nasty virus/spyware/walware????? What ever.....
And to kick a dead dog, two days later I got a second bug. After 4 hours or so, I was able to get rid of this one all by my self. And believe me, that is sayin' something. I am not good with this computer stuff. And if it wasn't for travcam.com I wouldn't be here online at all. I just know what I want online, and I am only 45% there. I can't do the site like I want, and things are going wrong left and right. Not to mention my main "machine" seems to be on its last legs. And let me tell ya. When this one goes down, I don't know if I will bother. Sure, it doesn't seem like much to sit around and load software, but ya gotta remember, I MADE cables to move cameras, I forced software to work when it didn't want to, I added video cards and kicked the shit out of each one to make them work.
Short way of sayin' this is............I am worn out. On the website,work,life, whatever. I have always looked for reason I put some of my home online......Now I am looking for more reasons........ANY reasons, on why we do ANY of this.

Well, it has happened. With all the computer problems I have been having here in the house, it was only a matter of time. My trusty laptop has come down with a virus. I have run everything I have to get rid of it. But can't touch it. I can watch the damn thing move around as I try to get rid of it. When the scans are done, it has deleted 10 to 14 pieces of the virus, but always two that it can't. Delete failed/clean failed.....What the hell.....I guess I will take this computer to someone I know, pay god knows how much to have it cleaned, and hope family pics, bank accounts, etc. are safe.....

My god. I was worried we wouldn't have enough food for the family. I was wrong. The fried bird was beyond great. As always. The ham was terrific. And now I feel like a long nap.
The site is still crawlin' along. It works when it wants to. I will try to work on it after the holidays.
I guess the next big thing to do is pick up a Christmas tree... Fun Fun...
But the kids will be happy. I will try to light up the house something good this year. Not to many people in the neighbor have the Christmas spirit. So I will try to shine for them all!
But after tonights holiday food fest, I think for Christams I might just order Pizza.

Turkey Day

The bird is ready. Well, ready to be cooked anyway. I injected it today and rubbed it down with all kinds of spices. Plan to drop it into the oil around 1pm.
I figure with this 14 lb bird, a 12 lb ham, and all the fixin's it should be a good day. Oh, also have a 7 lb turkey breast coming out of an oven to add to the mix.Not my idea, but we have more people coming this year, so the extra breast might come in handy. Besides, there is always room for breast....
And beer.
The living room computer was having problems. It seems like the monitor decided to fry. With no monitor, the computer updated itself, and I couldn't see to turn the cams back on. So they were down for a day or so.I replaced the dead LCD with an old CRT I had sitting around. It is big, old, and the color sucks, but it is working for now. While looking inside the computer, I did see some problems. A leaky capacitor, ten thousand pounds of dust and cat hair, and the fan on the old graphics card is no longer moving. I picked this computer up a good 10 years ago or so. Not sure how much life is left in it. Hell, just had "Mars" rebuilt, and now "Pluto" is going to the dogs... I can live with the desk top repairs. I hate it, but it isn't the end of the world when one goes down for a while. Getting them back up and running is the hard part, and I still have a few problems with the dining room computer ( like not being able to get online.... cameras go out, but I can't surf). I have the feeling that when "Mimas" (this laptop) goes down, well that WILL be close to the end of the world. I do everything from this machine. Work, payroll, taxes, surf, etc. If you ever see me in a ball on the floor it is because this computer has died.......

If you drop in on the cameras Thursday and the deck is on fire, have a beer and toast the memory of the turkey. But I have been deep fryon' for 5 years or so now. No problems yet. Knock on wood.....

Well, I still haven't figured out what is going on with dining room computer. I thought I was on the right track, but guess not....
And now my living room computer is dark. The monitor is dead, or the graphics card has went bad.
It's sad when you run three computers and can only surf the net from one SLOW computer..
Family is getting very upset with me. And I can't figure any of this crap out.....

The site will stay up as long as I can keep it running. No promises.

Funny thing, woke up this morning and three of my cameras have came back online...?
Not sure why, but it seems like they come and go. The network is found, then lost......... Then found again..... UNLESS I try to get on line from this computer... Then it is lost again.......... BLAHHHHHHHHHH
Not in the mood to figure this out.....

On the plus side, The 2010 vacation has been set. I have a count down timer on one of my cam pages. It is to remind me to get in shape... I wasn't the biggest guy on the beach last year.(TOO much beer), but I still look like I am 7 months along....Not to mention my hernia... LOL, OK so I do look pregnant. Belly button and all. I really need to get that fixed.(The belly button). And drop 20 lbs. or so.
We made the mistake of going on our FIRST vacation back in 2008. So this will be our third trip to the Outer Banks. I guess we have started something if I have now planned the third visit. Just need to wait till July of next year that is........ Hope I make it!

Picked up a new Turkey fryer a day ago. It will be my third. I use the hell out of them and don't take very good care of them. So had to pick this one up from Thanksgiving. I have burners, pots, and everything I need to brew beer, but don't want to load one up with oil!

The day is almost over. It went very well. Walked around the mall for a few hours. Had lunch at Panera Bread, and caught a movie. "Couples Retreat. We were the only two in the movie. The movie was OK I guess.
After coming home I found that I had lost three cameras again. This time I believe it is a networking problem. I use a Linksys USB thumb drive to network this computer. It seems to be fighting the computer over IP settings. I can't remember how to fix this issue. I seem to remember that it happened once before. But my memory is short. VERY short.....

What was I sayin'?

Anyway, I hope to figure this out soon. After all, I just added two more gig's of memory to this rebuilt computer......
Sucks.......

Also, it looks like the webcamXP software is about to expire. The way this software is put out now, it looks like I will need to pay for it, or just drop these three cameras. What says you?
Anyone wanna send me the cost of the software???? LOL

Yet one more month of fun...

Lots going on this month. Wife has a B-day this Thursday. We plan to have a nice lunch, might take in a movie, and have a big steamer pot of seafood for dinner. It should be a nice day.

This year for Thanksgiving we have decided to have the family over. MOST of the family anyway. So the house should be full, and I am not sure how it will go. I see a lot of LOUD conversations going on... I plan to do most of the cooking and 98% of the drinking.I plan to deep fry a bird, cook a ham, have all the fixin's, and people are bringing more. I will stay out of the way and see how it goes. As I get older and older, it is easier to WATCH. I don't like to be seen so much. Which is strange when it comes to this website.. Someone on the guest book asked me how it feels to be watched all day long on these cameras. Well, for the most part I do not get many hits. For why I put up these cameras in the first place? I am still tryin' to figure that out. I know I am nothing to look at. The wife is purty, and we have the two kids, two cats, one rat, and now three dogs. But people still stop in and visit. Not sure why, but I love to see the cameras being used. Hear the two cameras moving around. The same person asked if we were ever caught having sex. Well, I gotta say NO. You can trust me on this, NO ONE would wants to see my white a$$ doing that.Besides, who has 3 hours to watch something like that! LOL
Oh, and the wife still hates the cameras, so she would never...................
I am working on a beer idea, so I plan to brew soon. I hate having dry taps..........
I wanted to say something else, but for the life of me can't figure out what, so I will go for now.

It is that time of year again. The Beer Club that I am in loves to cook. But if you like to spend 4 to 9 hours making beer, it isn't a big jump to like to cook. We will be having the big cook off at my house again this year. What is it? I think the 4 th year that I have hosted this meeting. I won last year, but it sounds like even more people will be coming to this one. The more chili on hand the better. It will just be harder to take the prize! LOL
Still haven't closed the pool down. I am sure this will bite me in the ass, the water is now under 50 f. Getting the steps out will be a problem........
Anyway, Saturday at 6pm or so, my house will be full of people drinking good beer, and eating lots of chili! So tune in if you bother to watch these cams!

God, I bet the house will stink by the end of the night.......

I set up a new computer in the Dining room today. And after searching the internet for all the software ( for two cameras, linksys USB thumb drive, and a few misc. drivers) I was up and running. It took a bit more to download the free trial of webcamXP to play with, and even more trial and error to get all the IP and port stuff worked out. BUT, it looks like I have two cameras back. I figure I will need to shell out $100 bucks or so to keep them up. WebcamXP isn't cheap. Every year it cost more. But It seems like a great program. So if anyone has Some cash sitting around to and like to drop in this site.............................
I am having the motherboard, memory, and brainsssssssss, replaced on the computer that went belly up. I replaced it with a spare that I had sitting at work. This was my "Mars" machine in the dining room. I will take it back to work to replace an old machine at the front desk. I will then rebuild that computer and bring it home. Might as well use one of the two or ten cameras I have been sitting on for years. Just gotta figure out where to point said cameras... Damn crazy hobby..... Once you get passed having a camera on 24/7, you want more.... Even if you know no one in their right mind would want to look at you.

The wife and I got back to town today. Did a 4 day trip to Asheville, NC
It was OK. We did Chimney rock, and one night we visited 3 breweries.
Might need to plan a family vacation soon. Might try to go around spring break. Maybe Blackwater falls, Twin falls, or Carter caves for a few nights....? Need to get out more.
The day before we went out of town, I lost a computer. It drives the Kitchen and Diningroom cameras. I plan to rebuild this machine soon and make it better. Might use this as a reason to add a few more cameras. I missed being able to take a peak while out of town...So I hope to have it back up and running 0in a week or so.

It is October. Wow. Time seems to slip away from me more every month. I have let this website and blog kinda slip a bit. So I thought I might drop a few lines.
This time of year web traffic drops off to nothing. The family is at school and work most of the day, so nothing really going on. I guess the few people that still drop in just wanna check up on all the animals for me!
I haven't made any beer for a while now. Not sure why. God knows I have everything I need to make 200 gallons or so sitting around the house. Might try to plan a batch before the end of the month.
I am home today with the BOY. He is running a bit hot, and has had bathroom problems all day. Not sure if it is swine flu or not. To many damn little bugs around today to make us feel like crap. I blame older doctors and the people that believed them for years about antibiotics. We have spent 40 plus years making these bugs stronger....Hell, cant even buy soap with out "antibiotic protection" built in. Come on people, let your kids eat dirt once in a while.....

But as always, I am starting to ramble...

I havent posted for a while. Life can get a little crazy sometimes, and I do have a very short memory. With the kids in school (two different schools) and things going on at work, I have kinda forgot about this website for a while.
Nothing much has changed around here. I did host a beer club meeting last night. It went really well and lasted till about 11:30PM
Lots of great food and beer as always. Seems like I am the new Vice President of the club. Not sure I am ready for that, but will give it a try.
The crazy ass next door neighbor got in my wifes face a night or so ago. I wasn't here (thank god for her), but heard about it later. I have talked to the husband of said crazy ass snob. I doubt anything will change, but that is ok. We don't even wave to her at this point. But she wouldn't notice anyway with her nose so far in the air. I can only figure she is beyond rich, or might be some relation to a queen somewhere. Because she seems to believe she is SOMETHING. I hate fake ass people..... And did I mention she has a glass of wine in her hand 24 hours a day? Nothing wrong with that. Hell, I have a beer at all times.... But I treat people like people.... I don't pretend to be somebody....... I don't believe my shit don't stink...(and it does)!!.... But enough of tiny minded little shit heads.
Guess it is time to cut down my hops. Clean and close the pool. And get to brewin' some beer..
Lots to do in the following weeks.
Still looking at adding more cameras soon. Just need to find the next computer to run them!

School is back in !!!!!!!!

Kids are now back to school. I was looking forward to it SO much. I forgot one little thing. It isn't a big thing to most. But it is to me. I need to wake up earlier now. Again, I am sure that most do this already but I SLEEP in the wee early hours of the morning. I might go to bed at 11 or even 3 AM but I don't SLEEP SLEEP until 4 or 5AM. Wife, she SLEEPS the second she hits the pillow. But she stirs around 4 to 5 AM. It is not fun to get up for me....
Speaking of school back in. My cam traffic will drop like a stone now. Not that it was ever great. But now that both kids are in school. And now that BOTH kids are in school full time now, not much will be seen on these cams from 7:40 to 3:15PM or so. We will ALL be gone. So just to let you know if you drop in once in a while, we still live here!

And if you see me stumblin' around in the AM, half dressed, hair everywhere, looking pissed, SORRY.....

Little slow around the home front, and crazy at work.But we wont talk about sewage backup right now....
Have cooked out about 15 times in the last 20 days. LOVE it. Will continue with pork tenderloins Tuesday.
Been painting the third floor this past weekend. We will be moving the 10 year old up to this new bedroom next weekend or so. I have been looking out the windows a good bit and wondering if it is time for two or three new cameras..? Wouldn't be a great view for you all, but great from the security standpoint. Well, one could give a great birds eye view of the pool and back yard. God knows I have the cameras sitting around.. Just need to look into a computer...Just what this house needs.........
Kids start school VERY SOON!!!!!! woohoo.....

Another pet lost..

We lost a pet this week. Sally McWhiskers was one of the kids pet rats.
For those of you who haven't had rats as pets, I don't want to hear it. They are good pets, and no different then any other cage pet. I deleted one comment from the guest book already. I guess this person saw what was going on in the house from the cameras, and left a message. Now, I believe it was a lack of English, but it didn't come out right. And since My 10 year old reads all of this, it needed to be deleted. Free speech doesn't work here... But I still believe the person just "wrote something" he or she didn't understand.
Anyway, the kids are crushed, as they have been before, and will be again. That is the thing about pets, and it is heart breaking to see your kids hurt. We have a cat not doing well also, and when the time comes, I WILL BE CRUSHED. It is hard being around these animals and loving them, and then they are gone......

Kids are starting school soon. Life, and times will change alot around our house.
We will see how things go!

It is coming up in October. We were down that way last year. Beautiful country. Great beers to be had. All you need to do is get passed the hippies. They are everywhere. On the streets. Inside all the stores, etc. Nothing like placing an order for pizza and your waitress has dreads. And the cook has dreads, and half the people in the place has dreads..... And I don't care, you want to save the world, but do you need to farkin' SMELL to save the world? Do you hate soap because the MAN made it? Give me a break....
But like I said. Beautiful country. Smell or not...
I will try my best to set up a camera from North Carolina. If I have no view out of a window, I guess I will send video from the hotel room. And post lots of pictures I guess!

I am the GRILL MASTER!!!!

Ok, the people that come here know I like to cook out. I fire up the grill this time of the year 3 times or more a week. Nothing makes me happier then when the grill is hot, I have a spatula in one hand, and a beer in the other. I love working in the kitchen also. But the kids(know this) so they have started coming in while I am tryin' to cook. It is not so fun doing something you love and the noise starts. And it is like the people in this world who hates cats. The cats seem to know this, so they come to them. Wont leave them alone. Now, I love cats. Love them far more then dogs. I just can't say that out loud since I own a CAT AND DOG Hospital. I can't say out loud that cats rule and dogs SUCK...... LOL.
Now one of my heroes on the net, we will call him ERNIE, loves dogs and hates cats. I even know it is not cool that a man to love cats, but I do. You put down food, the wife cleans the litter box. (old agreement when she was pregnant), and they come to you when they want love. I wont say what MY dogs do to make me ,,,um, not like dogs so much, but just wanted to give you a little back story.....Anyway, the kids seem to know when I am getting into my happy place. So they,, um,,attack. If they wanted to learn that would be different, but they just want to make noise and get in my way. Don't touch the stove. Stay away from that!!! You know......
It is funny. I got into my local Beer brewing club to learn how to make better beer. The club gets together once a month to try beer, and cook food. Lots of these meetings are beer food matches. I have "WON" many if not most of these events because of my foods. I make great beer. But I can cook far better I guess. I just need to work harder on the beer I guess.
Sorry, I have lost my train(hehe) of thought. I guess I will blame that on my lack of beer on tap, and the amount of Mead that I have put down my gullet. I might not make the best beer. I might not make the best Mead, but let me tell ya. The Mead is strong..... And I have 35 gallons in the basement. Some of it is 3 years old or better.

The cook out with the neighbors went well. They have three kids, one of which still has that new baby smell. Well, until he did a little toss-up on me.Two or three toss-ups to tell the truth. Got the wife a few times also. The last one being a little impressive. Kid is cute as hell. All three of the kids are cute. I just thank god that we will never do it again. It is nice to see a nice little baby, hold it, and then hand it back. But once your manly little friends have met the knife.........You don't need to worry about little ones ever again. But that is a story for some other day.
It was still hard to watch someone else grill.. But that is OK. I mother came in from out of town today so I will fire up the grill (like I need a reason) at noon on Sunday. Going to have hamburgers,cheesy mett's, and the basic fixin's to go with it.
The more I think about this blog stuff, the more I wish I could write. I know very few people read this, and I know few come for the cameras. BUT I wish I could right about something to keep you coming back. With my spelling, grammer,(see) structure, etc. I find my own blog hard to read.... But I just pound away at the keyboard and click post. I never see it again. So I am sorry. If you force yourself to read this, I just want you to know I will try a little harder from here on out. I still wont read it! Or even check spelling. But I will try to write. And I will try to stop the bitchin so much.......
On that note, my eyes are a bit sleepy..

Here it is almost noon. Just gave the kids breakfast and working in the kitchen.
Going to do some quick clean up and head to Sam's club to find something tonight for a cook out with neighbors a few doors down.
Wish it was going to be here. I really don't like to watch other men grill. Just like I can't stand to have someone else drive. I cook out two to four times a week and can't stand the thought of not being in control of the grill!!!!! LOL, silly I know, but true.
I guess I will make up for it Sunday and do some hamburgers and Metts on my own grill. I don't want to make it sad....
Things have been going very well around here. And the kids will be in school in about two more weeks. So it will be even better! LOL

Wife and I will have every Thursday alone for about 6 hours! We plan to do a lot of hiking. Carter caves in KY has some great trails. Lttle bit of a drive, but will be fun. Some trails around here also, but nothing nice and long. Movies, nice lunches, who knows. But I am really looking forward to Thursdays again...

Not been the best year for the pool. Seems like it has rained most of the summer. And I do like the water around 90. Hasn't been above 84 or so at all. Next year I am going to look into a heat pump. I would rather go with solar, but not sure where I would put a 4 foot by 24 foot panel. And I bet I would need two... I will not climb up to the third story of my house.... My knees wouldn't allow that, but it would be the best solution.
We shall see.

Is te site back to normal? I think so.
Google has removed the "attack site" warning.
Travcam.com had to change my index page, to get rid of the porn redirect. I guess I could have done this, but I panic when things go wrong with my website, or one of my many computers.... But thanks go to Travis none the same.
So I guess some things are fixed, some are still broken. I plan to get a new modem soon. I believe I will run some new cat-5 to the living room computer so I stop dropping three of the cams. And if need be, I will replace the router. I have added a gig of memory to most all my computers, a new network card in one of them, and still have a few issues. BUT I am tryin'...................
I believe in a week or three I will have a fourth machine to add to the mix. And I do have about 7 more cameras waitting to be used. Some IR cams, some PTZ cams, and even a webcam or two.. Just not sure where to put them. Wife still has a say of coarse. And a few more outdoor cams will not interest people on the net. But they would come in handy from the security stand point. We shall see.
Still grilling out 2 to 3 times a week. Would do it even more if I had the time. Nothing is better then MEAT from the grill. WEll, ok, a few things are. But food wise.................................

I was told by e-mail today that if you type in insnitycam.com into the addy bar, it takes you to a porn site.
I have seen the attack site pop ups in firefox that make it real hard to get around my site.
I have seen what happens if you google my site.
I am still having problems with networking that takes out three of my cameras.

Is anyone still even coming here??????????
I was looking into a new router, modem, and running some new cat-5 wire to fix the three cameras that come and go as they wish, but is it worth it if I can't fix the "site"? I love this hobby. Wanted to add more cameras. Even some at work. A few more at the house. BUT, this attack stuff. This google blockade, this porn site redirect...... I am at a loss. I want to keep going. But I don't know what to do next.............
If anyone can even still read this, I am tryin' to figure out which direction to go... Too much money in cameras, software, time, cables, etc to stop. But I have no clue how to fix it......

Just a little update I guess.
I can't find the bad code, or even know if my site was hacked or not.
This is what I do know. If I use Firefox to go to my site, I get massive attack site warnings. It is a pain to get around, and a pain to see. It even says something in google under my site name that it may do harm....
If I use IE, no warnings come up. But, it does block a pop up from opening. I clicked this pop up a year or more ago, and it wanted to download the newest Flash player. Is this why I am now getting "attack site warnings"? Because my site tries to download the newest Flash player? OR, is that a bug someone put on my site on the server side?
I don't know......I do believe I have lost some of the few people that come here.
I put a new network card into the living room computer today. It drives the living room, porch and front door cameras. I thought it might help. And it did for an hour or so. It is still dropping the network again. It doesn't seem to happen all the time, just here and there. So I guess the next thing to do is change out the cat-5 wire again.Not that it matters if I can't get rid of the attack site crap.
So I lost it on my last post...... I just hate being dumb. Having no idea how to fi this stuff...
Haven't had any problems with the Dining room and kitchen cameras since getting backfrom vacation. Knock on wood.... But if they start going down again, on top of these other problems, I might just give up this site...

Hell, I get very few hits per month. I stream 8 fucking cams, two are PTZ cams, I know nothing really happens on these cameras, just a little family site. But I still kick the shit out of these other family webcam sites because I have SO many cameras. I also know that not too many other people have ANY PTZ cams. So, is this some sad little asshole who has one camera or two that is just upset and reported me for something? Is it some jerk off who has a camera or two but doesnt stream? Well, both the 5 year old and the 9 year old are now sick. So far the wife and oldest daughter don't show any signs of being sick. I can only believe we picked this up in N.C. It takes a while to kick in, and I started feeling it Monday. Still guess it is better to be sick AFTER the vacation. But still, summer colds suck.....
Might not put in a full day at work in the AM. Just sit on the couch in a blanky with my massive night night cup of water.. Haven't had a beer now since Saturday.... And I gotta say, I don't miss it like I figured I would...

Well, after being home for 1 day, I came down with a cold. A good one....I hate to be sick in the summer. I had to go to work Wednesday to pay taxes, and do pay roll. I wanted to stay in bed, but couldn't. I am a little worried that my boy is now getting sick also.

Well, we are back home now. The drive is the hardest part..Not as young was I once was. And with young kids, well, it is a bit harder.
I am worn out, and really need to get in bed. Just had a weeks worth of internet to catch up on. I went without, I made it seven days, but it was hard! I didn't get to share video from the beach. And I couldn't see my house from the beach.And as always, the computers shut down while I was gone. Or a few did anyway. But I am sure you five didn't notice.
I haven't even checked the kitchen and dinning room computer yet, so I don't even know if it is on or not.
Lots and lots to do at work in the AM. Will take a bit to catch up. But, all in all, I did love being on the sand again.

Mars is almost gone....

Getting very close to our vacation now. Will be hitting the road Sunday morning, I am sure the drive will not be good. But, once we hit the sand in Kitty Hawk, it will be worth it.
Was so excited about sending video from the beach, but don't think that will happen. And it looks like "Mars", the machine that runs the Kitchen and Dinning room cams is on its last legs. I drop the cameras every internet every day now, and I am getting crazy error messages now. It was given to me a while back, and it has seen its better days. So, my plans to add more cams while on vacation, and to see my house while away, is slowly fading away. It is nice to drop in your home and see that everything is ok. One of the reasons I wanted to do this site in the first place. But it looks like I will need to do some major work to these machines once I get back in town. So, if a few cams go down in the next day or so, it is because I can't be here to reboot the computer 5 or 6 times to get them back.And once I do get back in town, Mars will be taken down until I can fix it. Replacement would be better, but I don't see that anytime soon.
I don't need to worry too much about the house while we are away. Cameras or no cameras, I do have people taking care of things while we are gone. Mother in law will stick around, a kick ass alarm system, and a few friends, family, and employees keeping things in line. Not that anyone would care about our house, but it always make worry when we leave.....Something always seems to go wrong..... Knock on wood.............

Still playin' with the website and my computers.
I have set up Two remote cameras now. They will only be on once in a while. I don't have a wireless service to run these often.
I was just trying to get ready for our beach trip, that's why I started the idea of remote computers.
The frame rate on these computers are sad at best. But it is better then nothing at all. The computers in the house have slowed to a crawl. It has been getting worse over the last year, and I have no idea why. I have added memory to two machines, defragged, removed programs, and nothing seems to help. My wife and kids are getting very upset when they want to go on line. You click the blue E and walk away for 5 or 10 min...... So slow. I am going to try to get them to use Firefox. It seems to work well on my laptop, but haven't tested it on the home computers.

I found this guy who builds some great computers, and doesn't charge too much, but I wont be able to replace these systems ANY time soon. So I guess we run slow for now.

But hey, two more cams to turn on once in a while!!!!

Well, I have a new Remote camera going. It will not always be on, but we will still call it camera 9.
At this moment it is in the bedroom. BUT, it will not be on for long. I was working on it and the battery was going out, the charger just happened to be in this room. LOL WIFE would kill me, so it will be out soon.
It took me hours to work out some problems, and not sure they are all worked out just yet, but it is a start.
If this works well, I plan to add 2 or 3 more Remote cameras. From my laptops, and maybe even work.

Had a good day off today. Wife and I had the house alone for once. It was nice. It was quiet...
I moved some beer today. After being in the primary carboys for 15 days, the beer has cleaned up nice. I will leave them to secondary for 7 days or so then transfer to kegs.Well, One batch I will move to a keg, I don't have room for two kegs in my kegerator.It has three kegs already in it. One Barley wine, a two year old Mead, and a Copper Ale I made on May third. I added 1 OZ. of cascade hops to one of the beers. The smell of the hops in these beers are great. Thought I would dry hop one and see how it comes out. Looks like I should try to brew again before I go on vacation. Don't want to get behind again..Nothing worse then running out of beer.
It is late, I have been stayin' up far to late the last week or so. Last night I was up till 3am. I guess I have a few hundred things on my mind.....Just can't stand to turn out the lights and sit and think.It is easier to pass out and dream then sit in the dark..
But I do have work in the am, so I guess I will try to get in bed.

Network???Hello??!!!

Well, I don't get it. I powered down "Pluto" added a gig of memory and booted back up. I then strung my back up cat5 wire all over the house and rebooted my router. My cameras were back online again. BUT, I can't have this wire all over the place, so I took it off and plugged the other one back in. And I am still on the net...
So if the power goes out, or I turn it off, I loss the network. If I plug in a NEW cat5 wire, get on line, then switch out to the chewed up line thatI have spliced 4 or 5 times, it works....
Who knows..... I am sure someone smarter then me. Or someone who could test my wire.... But It is online, so I wont touch a thing for now....
I am sure it will go down again the minute I go on holiday...hehe... Vacation....I just love the sound of holiday.. Anyway, I am sure they will go down before I leave the state and I wont be able to watch my house.....

If I can, but I am sure I have no idea how, I will set up a remote cam next month from the beach......I can only ask my friend for so much help, don't want to be a nag....

The rain just hit with a fury. Took out my modem and all three computers. Put 6 inches of water in my basement in a matter of 10 minutes. everything has came back online, but the basement will be wet for a while.
Day off today, hitting the movies with the kids and wife.
I have added a gig of memory to one computer and will add a stick to the living room computer soon. Hope it helps me. These machines crawl now......

I am a man. A beer drinking, Copenhagen usin', stinky MAN!
I have never really worried what I looked like,how I smelled, or worried about how much red meat I eat.
But today I messed up. We (the family) will be going to the beach soon. In ...lets say 2 to 6 weeks....Last year I had a little bit of sun poisoning. So today I used a tanning bed. It was hard to walk into a place that was full of 20 something good looking people. I am not worth looking at to most. But I did it because I didn't want toburn at the beach. Or have people try to roll me back into the water........ But that is beside the point.
Anyway, I felt that a stand up "bed" was more manly. I hear it is a "level 2" bed. But I don't know what that is.... Anyway, this is my first time, I have NO idea what I am doing, and I tell them to set me at 12 min.
I now know, hours later, this was a mistake. Well, I knew it was a mistake 30 minutes after I left. But it is getting worse. The red has done spread.....And I don't want to tell you that 7 minutes into it I took off the undies... So I will just tell you that I HURT almost everywhere!
If anyone was unlucky enough to look in on the cams around noon, you may have caught my fat ass walking all over the house without a shirt. Sorry.. I hope I didn't damage your eyes. I try to keep my clothes on when the cameras are running.. And now, I look like a lobster. A fat one.. Ready to be put in a pot.
And I still feel like a girl for going to a tanning bed in the first place.
So if are unlucky enough to tune in and see me half dressed, it is because I am a little hot... And my skin hurts....

OK. So my living room computer hasn't been connected to the internet for a while now. I figure the problem is in the Cat-5 wire, or the on board network card. Is it a card if it is on the motherboard? Anyway, I had some ends put on a cable, and it worked. ((See other post.)Did I post that? Not that anyone reads this). Anyway, I didn't want to crawl under the house so I decided to cut into the cat-5 wire that the dog chewed into. ( Three times). I cut it all out AGAIN,and did a little splice job. It seems to be working again so I will leave it alone! We will see what happens.

On the beer front, On Saturday I made a 10 gallon batch of American Pale ale. It looks good so far. In a week to 15 days I move it to secondaries. I hope to brew again in two weeks,but it depemds how this one turns out.
I have the grains, so I must brew.......................
I have no Idea what I have put to paper(ONLINE), so I hope spelling and grammer is a littke OK, But as always, I do this for ME!

Well, the computer was on and off all day. I figured it was the network card or the cat5 wire. You know, the one that has been chewed in half three times by a little crap eatin' dog. So I figured it was the wire.
I had a new cable made and so far the computer is still online. So I will hope this is the only problem. Right now the cable is running all over the house. I guess when I get time, I will crawl in the dirt under my house and run this new cable.

I hate bugs........

Now,I need about 6 gigs of old memory for these machines.. So if you have any PC2100 or 2700, drop them in the mail!

Well, Pluto is down again. This computer is driving me nuts. I have lost three cameras again, and have no idea why. WebcamXP starts, and seems to be running, but I can't maximize it. And add to the fact that it doesn't seem to be getting out to the net. I will be going out of town next month and wanted to keep an eye on the house, not sure I will be able to do that now.
Anyway, just wanted to let you all know what was going on. I haven't turned them off, they just wont come on!!!

I have been picking up a LOT of store purchased beer. Nothing wrong with that I guess. When I need good beer, I just go to Ohio, or Kentucky. If I don't make it out of town, I just pick up the best (LOL) of what I can here in town. I did make my very first batch of all grain on May 3rd. and it was great. I gave the first 5 gallons away, but I still have 5 gallons or more in a carboy in my basement. Long story short, I need to keg this batch! I am sick of going to the store when I have beer ready to go. I just need to keg the damn thing. So I have a keg soaking. I picked up some more tubing tonight to transfer with, so first thing in the AM I will move this beer to a keg. Monday noght I will have 5 gallons on tap to drink. Only other thing I have on hand is a Barley Wine, and a Mead. The barley wine is not something I like. But I made it almost two years ago when I really didn't know what I liked yet. It is good. Don't get me wrong. It is far better then I ever thought it would be, and might wine me an award or two, but not something I can sit and drink. The mead, well, you don't want to drink more then half a glass or two at a time. It is some strong stuff! It is also about two years old.
This coming Saturday I will be doing my second ever batch of all grain. It will be ten gallons of American Pale Ale. It will be close to 4 weeks before I can drink it, but maybe I wont need to pick up any beer before it is ready. I hope to brew again within 2 or 3 weeks after this APA. Before long I willl be caught up. I don't have many friends and I am not sure why ( It must be me....) but how many people do you know with 5 taps in the back room? Come 6 or 7 weeks, I will have them all running. Friends or no, I can drink myself happy.... Or try..............
I have 2 pounds of hops coming in the mail in the next day or so, and Thursday I will be picking up 110Lbs. of grains. This should last me for a few brews!

Well everything seems to be working again. Don't ask me why. I have no clue.
You see, I gave up. I was going to calm down for a while and start fresh. Thought I would start with a new cat5 wire, might replace the network card, and then dig into the software side. Then one day the camera moved. Someone had clicked a movement button and it worked. So I knew it must be back up on the net.
No idea or clue what was wrong... and that makes me worry even more. Cause now I wonder when they will go out again.
Oh well.
Nothing much more to report. Cameras are up, pool is open, the kids are still the kids, and I still need $750,000.00

Well people, I can't figure this out. I thought my three cameras were down do to a cat5 wire. Guess I was wrong. My daughter clicked on internet explorer and up it popped. So now I am pissed. I could have fixed a cable. Software side? Website side? Router? I have looked at all The things that I know about. And let me tell you, that isn't much. I have been upset the past week or so about thousands of things, so this doesn't help. It makes me mad that I am so damn stupid when it comes to computer stuff. Things that I should be able to fix.... So I just get mad, and hate myself even more.I love my little site. I love looking in from work. It is one of my two hobbies.And I can't fix it when it breaks. Some damn hobby.

Sitting here in bed so I thought I would look at my front door and porch cameras before i fell asleep. They don't seem to be on....?So I run down and check the computer. It seems to be ok. Just doesn't look like it is on the network anymore. Now I ain't, not, no, good with this computer stuff, so I really don't know what to do.It might be the cat5 wire, but i can't check that this late. Not sure how I would check it anyway. I hope that is the only problem, but it wasn't easy to run it in the first place. And I would hate to run it again...
So it looks like I have lost three of my cameras for now. I will see what I can do in the AM.

Pool was used today! First swim of the season. My fat arse didn't sink!! And when I got out of the pool, Green peace didn't try to roll me back into the water!

Now I will sit here in bed and worry about this computer all night......blah.

Howdy, not been here for a bit. I guess I just haven't felt like blogging much.
Work hasn't been going well. The money just isn't coming in. I have 10 total employees and I just want to send them home with a paycheck and pay the bills. It is getting hard to do.
So lets skip the talk about work.
Summer is almost here. I will be very happy when the rain stops. Seems like it has been falling for 3 to 4 weeks now.
Need to finish the pool soon. The kids are asking me every hour or so when it will be ready. I will finish it soon. I can't make the water warm but I don't think they will care.
Anyway, not much of a post, but I tried. Just not been very happy as of late.

Well, I guess I haven't been writing much. If you call what I do writing.So I will ramble on tonight for a bit.
As you can see, the site has not changed much. I did move the backyard camera into the (wait for it) the backyard! I still plan to move the living room camera to the front yard this summer. Might drop a viewer or two out of the six or seven viewers I have. I don't know why, but people like to move my camera around the living room a good bit. I know nothing goes on in this house and should be thankful for the people who do drop in! But I figure not many people will want to see the street or front yard. But a good bit of this site is for security.
I have been getting the pool clean.Not been in a big hurry because the weather isn't just right yet, but I figure it is about time. I am trying to get in touch with my pool woman to pick up a few more things, but she must be getting busy this time of year. Go figure. I will see her Friday one way or the other since one of her dogs comes to us every week. Rare blood problem. So I am sure she will fix me up then.
Lets see, haven't been brewing at all. I am really behind. This Saturday is big brew day. It is a "holiday" I guess you could say. Home brewers all around the world brew on this day and toast at noon. I don't think I am ready with my new system but I am going to brew anyway. I will have the help of some long time brewers to help if something doesn't go right. So on deck is twenty gallons of brew! Still not sure what yet, but it will be two 10 gallon batches. After I am sure my system works, I plan to brew my butt off all summer. Why have these taps in my house if beer isn't flowing!
What else? Well, my birthday is coming up. May 6th for those of you who live over sea's and want to send me something to drink! Anyway, I believe my wife is going to try and kill me this birthday. She really likes to hike. She has lost a crap load of weight in the last year and is in much better shape then me.(wouldn't be hard as I am in the worse shape of my life.) So anyway, we are going to Kentucky for my birthday and doing a little seven mile hike.If I don't come back make the phone calls that you need to.... My body might be hard to find in such a wooded area!
On the plus side, I do seem to be dropping some weight. I do not know how. I haven't changed anything. I am pulling up my pants about every 2 minutes now. Even the Wii says I have lost like 7 pounds. Not sure what is going on.. Just hope I am not "sick" in some bad way...
But then again, a tape worm or two wouldn't be bad.... Still get to eat, drink, and drop pounds!
I have grilled out now for about 6 days in a row. Man I love it... Nothing better then a hot grill, some raw food, and a cold beer.

Hello again. Helllllllooooooo.. is there anyone out there.....?
Anyway, the weather has took a turn. A turn for the worst. It was nice for a week, warm, sun, no rain....Then it went to hell. Cold, rain every day, wind... My Hop plants grew almost two feet in a matter of 15 days? And now the cold. I am not sure if they will make it. The growth I have anyway, the hops always come back. this is only the second year, but they grow like a man after a beer.
Work has been the same, pay bills and hope people keep coming in the front door. Lots of new paint and wall paper on the walls, so now I need to start moving into the rest of the place. Try to fix a building that is now 59 years old...With very little money.
On the plus side, I have one drug rep that has really stepped up and helped me out a bit. Just the one, but it is still great to feel like someone wants to help. I do owe her company about $20,000. but still she tries to help.
On the beer side, Big Brew day is coming up in May. It is a homebrew holiday of sorts. Home brewers all over the world brew together. I guess I will be doing 20 gallons on my new, untested all grain system. !0 for me, and 10 for the club president. It was his idea.. Not sure it is a good one, but I am game. So come May 2nd. I will have a LONG day. 20 gallons will take a while. Add food, games, lots o beer on hand.... Real long day... But it will be fun.

The pool is almost open. Yes it is March and the water will not be ready for months, but why not. The cover was off, it is turning green, so I might as well. Most of the plumbing is now back on, all I need to do is install the light/water outlet. Will also need to purchase a butt load of pool shock.
This also lets me it is time to put the backyard camera back in the.......backyard. Not that we really need a pan,tilt,zoom camera in the laundry room/wife's office/beer vault room.
I guess for now, I am going to leave all the cameras running. I can't do much about my sad bloggin' powers. Or lack of them, but I will keep the site for a while longer. Guess to much work has went into it. Besides, will be on vacation this summer and would love to keep an eye on the house...

I have yet to figure out why I put this site on the web. Not sure what reasons I had to do it. It started as a little security type camera site for me. I traveled and wanted to drop in on my family from time to time. That what I tell myself anyway. I am not even sure if that is what started it or not. I found sites with cameras, and thought it was cool. Is that the reason? I am not sure. All I know is that I wanted to do it. It took a year or more to get that first camera up and running. It was out the old house, looking at my little above ground pool. Had a little blog and some pictures. That site (server ?) went down. No back -ups, no saved blogs, photos, etc. Once it went back online, we moved. Once I hit this house I moved a little faster. Cameras went up, computers added, getting yelled at by the wife..... She still don't like the cameras..... Anyway, I have always wanted to add even more cameras. But I still don't know why... I am not a good looking man, I don't even look in the mirror after a shower. So why would I believe anyone else would want to look at me? The wife hates the cameras, so she is very careful when near any of them. So are people looking to see her? I don't think so. So that leaves the kids. Are sick people hitting my cameras to see them? I hope to the F.S.M they are not. I would hate to kill again.....
But as I watch the computers, people are not really hitting this site anyway. Am I shocked? Well, no. Like I said, nothing goes on here. Nothing to really see. I have three computers running eight cameras at all hours of the day. That takes a good bit of juice. My cable TV and internet runs at $168. a month. Wife hates the cams, I have very few people checking in any more, and I am getting sick of resetting cameras every morning. Why should I keep adding cameras or pounding out these sad little blogs? Hell, I can even spell!! My over use of the ,,,,,,,, even bothers me now!!!
Don't get me wrong. I still love doing this. I would have 3 or 4 more cameras up and running. Wouldn't bother me to have them in the bedroom. Wouldn't see anything in that room either, but it is cool to check on my house from work...
It is late, and as always I just come here and write to hear myself talk. I 4 years ago or so when I started this, I wrote about the 4 or 5 people that came to my site. I wrote because I knew I had those few people. Site crashed for a while, and I think I lost them. Now? I really have no idea how many people drop in. I can see a little counter on my computer that gives me an idea on the number of views, and it is never really showing anyone. Once in a while, might be a person on one computer or the other. But I am just wondering if I will keep this going.
I have read others sites. Some have had a camera or two up for more years then me, and they are dropping like flies. The person who made this site work in the first place,(and has tried to help me learn about web design) Travis doesn't have the time to keep up with his site either.
So if anyone is reading this, let me know what you think. If I get NO comments, I guess that tells me what I need to know.

It is late. Thought I would post again just to talk to my self. Lots going on at work so thats what I will spew about today.
Lots of painting done, LOTS more to do. Been putting up wall paper here and there and still have a lot more of that to do also. We found about 8 pictures online and picked up the frames here in town for them. So, I really need to get the paper and paint done. I am not at work as much as I need to be, and the only time I can really get things done is after hours. Guess I better go in Friday night and paper my ass off. Place is old and looks like hell, so the little I have done looks great so far.

It is late, I guess I should force myself to go to sleep. I drop my boy off at school at 9am and pick him up at 12 on Fridays. Not much reason to even go to work. And I forgot to pick up school snacks so I will need to run to the store. Hell by the time I go to work I would need to leave anyway....

Man, the weather was great today. Talk about spring fever.. I hear the park was full today, but didn't get the chance to go down. I can't wait for summer. It will be nice to fill our planters up with flowers again. It looks bad out front. But then again, I still have Christmas lights up.... Not lit of coarse, but they are still up. Lazy I guess.
I picked up a new computer today, had it built by a small business owner here in town. I could have done it myself, but it will be going in at work as a server. Better that a pro build it then me. The numbers on this thing are great and only for $500. Five years ago this would have ran into the thousands of dollars.I wanted to start working on it here before I take it to work, but I am short a monitor, mouse and keyboard. I guess I could shut down one of my desk tops and use the things I need, but every time I shut down one of these three computers it is never the same. Not sure how I want to handle this yet, but I will tell you I can't run out and get a new monitor! Once I do get this machine running, I will switch out the servers and rebuild the infected machine. Will be a nice back-up. God knows I might be hurt if I set up a fourth desk top here in the house...Let alone more cameras. I am thinking about getting rid of the kitchen and dinning room cameras. No one seems to watch these camera much anyway. I can only figure it is because I spend a good amount of time in the kitchen.... Looks like people are getting sick of my pregnant looking ass! That didn't sound right, after all, I have a great ass, it is the front of me that looks pregnant....And that would be fine if I was a girl.....
Man, I am running on tonight....Sad thing is I haven't been drinking... Oh well.

It is still very early, but I am going to try to go to bed early. I always stay up far to late, so why not see what will happen with extra sleep..
And DAMN, this house is hot..............

Lazzy Thursday

Not a lot going on now, we did spend most of the morning on the girls room. Took the top bunk bed off and moved it to the third floor. Moved everything around the way she wanted it. She will be surprised when she gets out of school.
The boy was only in preschool for an hour when he hit his head on something. Had to go pick him up. Has a massive pop knot on his head now. It might look worse by the morning. He seems to be doing good now.
Weather is finally getting nice, cant wait for sun shine again. Will be nice to open the pool. Give the kids something to do.

New toy, New Virus

Wife let me pick up a GPS today. A nice little Garmin nuvi 200. It was only $129. at white trash mart. I decided to register it online and up date the software and maps.While trying to update the maps, and I do stress trying, I noticed my McAfee kept kicking on and off. Well, the update crashed after a while and I started running a virus scan. It is still running but it has already found 12 version of a virus. This one is called JV/Eploit-Gimsh. And they are all in the Sun Java folders.
The same program that was running while trying to update the GPS. I hope to hell this goes away. The virus I have at work will not go away. I run McAfee and it will delete 12-15 parts of the virus, but can't touch one wee little bit. Then it just spreads all over again.
I will finish this scan with my fingers crossed. But my luck, I am screwed.Just as I am with my work server.

February update

Well, not much to update.
Seems like the auto focus is going on my Backyard camera (that is indoors right now).
I have a few more of these cameras so I might try to replace it soon. My IR cameras still kick out every day and I need to reboot. Getting sick of that.
Anyway, been spending some time at work on paint and wallpaper. Gotta try to make this place look somewhat OK. I sit at home on my laptop and look at numbers, bank accounts, etc. just looking for ways to make this work.
The one thing I look forward to is brewin' beer. I am so close to brewing my first batch of all grain I can taste it. Two years of extract brewing, soon I will be moving on to better beer with even better flavor. Not to mention 10 gallons at a time instead of 5!
I should be go up north soon to pick up 300 LBS. of grain and 2 LBS. of hops. Will be a nice trip away from here, a nice lunch, some good beer, and supplies to start brewing again.
Now, if I could only find a second 15.5 gallon keg............ huuuummmmmmmmmm....

More Snow

Boy the snow is flyin'. I had to get my kids out of school two hours early for no reason, but the snow we were looking for is now here. Looks great of my cameras, but hate what it does to business. Not to mention school closings.
Wife is at a meeting a little to far away. Worried about her getting home in her piece of crap Neon.
Would do anything to get her a new car, but that is a long way off.
Biggest Loser is not on tonight because of some damn Basket Ball game. Funny how I like to watch a show that I should be on.
Going to get the kids in bed soon, might play a little Zelda on the Wii. Makes me forget whats going on and takes me back to my childhood.
Nothing new going on with the website for now. Besides the two cameras that freeze up every 6 to 12 hours, everything seems to be running. Need to add some memory to all my machines.
When it warms up, both PTZ cameras will be going outside. I even have this little idea about an underwater camera for the pool. It would be something different than other websites have, but I am sure the wife would have something to say about that! LOL
Just want to do more with this site, but not sure what yet.
Feel free to send me any ideas. Or money... I could always use money. Oh, or beer! Need some viewers fom Germany, or over sea's to send me some real beer!
Man, I really need to brew some damn beer.

Snow.....

Snow, snow, everywhere. As always it causes more problems then it is worth. Looks purty and all, but the roads are a little bad. It is going to get worse with freezing rain tonight. Wife somehow managed to get to work in her piece of crap car. I would have taken her in the truck, but the kids were in bed and the babysitter couldn't make it off her hill. One employee couldn't make it in because of the snow, one employee is still out due to family health problems, my part time employee has been working far more then she wants too. It is only a matter of time before she gets fed up and quits. And one employee has given me her two weeks notice. That leaves two part time girls that are going to the BIG school here. They are the best, but need to work around schools classes.I need to hire someone really bad. But I am shocked that no matter how bad the world is, or how hard it is to find a job, that NO ONE seems to want to work. Now, I know I don't pay much, but the job isn't hard. People want to sit home and collect a check I guess. And things will be far worse in the coming years as people see they can sit home and get bigger checks and pop out more kids to get even more money...Sad damn world we live in.
Add to that the tax rates, and competition in the tri-state area, and the town I live in, business is BAD. I have made it 3 or 4 months longer then I though, but things are not getting better. I can only hope for cash to start falling from the ski at this point.

Christmas, cameras, work, New Years

Well, Christmas is over.
The kids are happy. Well, for now. They had some great gifts. One gift "the girl" had was the Nintendo Wii. One gift I gave "the wife" was the Wii fit. And one gift she gave me was a Zelda game. I grew up on Zelda. And I love it. If I am standing up or even sitting down to play this game, I forget to drink! And if I am not drinking beer, well, I guess that is a good thing. Which brings me to my wife's gift of the Wii fit. I set up the game and the little pad, box, thinging that you stand on. Well in doing so you need to set you "person" up and then stand on this thing. Long story short, it set an age for me of 61!!!!, Oh and it said I was the O word. You know. The word that comes after over weight.
Now, I know I am fat. I have been fat since my first marriage. For three years of high school I was at 165 Lbs. at 6 foot 3 inches. I know weigh,,,, wait for it............ wait.......... 245. And I seem to have lost an inch. I am now at 6 foot 2.
Is the extra weight making me slump an inch?
I don't know. But I know I am fat. I have known that I am fat for 15 years. I don't need a computer game to tell me that. I don't need said game to make a noise when I step on to the pad, but it did. I don't need this game to make my little person that I made even fatter then I did when I created it, but it did. SO. As of Jan. 1st. I plan to change many things. The amount of beer I drink is the first thing to be changed. I don't really eat. Not much anyway. But I also don't really move around much. So I figure a change here and there, I should be good!.. Well, I hope.
And did I say that I like Zelda! hehe, It has been around one way or the other for years.
I did add the kitchen camera. It like the dining room camera, isn't always on. But it will be more and more in the next year. The problem with the kitchen camera is that it isn't a wide angle lens. It only picks up half of the kitchen. I can't afford to buy any other camera at this time, so it will need to do. I have thought about adding a second kitchen camera and set them side by side and somehow put the two images together. Now, I don't know how to do this, and the one person I know who does is a little busy as of late. I don't want to bother him with some thing so small as my website. So the picture you get for now is the pic you get.
Every New years is about he same in my house. I wake up the wife as the ball drops, and she rolls over and goes back to sleep. Not much will change this year. Lets just say that I will be awake. AND I will be sure to stay awake most of the night.
I will say it out loud. I will type it here. If I do, I might make a change or two in my life.
By July 10th or so I hope to be 20 to 30 Lbs. less.
The only way to do that is to move more! Drink less, and ???????? I don't know. But I do know that I am in the worse shape of my life.

New camera added.

Well after plugging away at the computer for hours I figured out my problem and got a new camera going. I was working with ports on my router, settings in WebcamXP, settings in the web page, and finally figured out the problem. I had set up the IP on this system the right way, just in the wrong place. I added a wireless USB drive to this computer to network. That is where I needed to set up the IP. Not on the internal network card. I learn, slow, but I learn. So, I have one webcam set up in the living room. The link to the kitchen camera goes to this same camera. I will change that when I get the other webcam going. Wife is far from happy. So the camera hasn't been up much today. It was our day off after all. I wish she liked the site as much as I do, but she doesn't. When the dining room and kitchen camera are up I plan to have them off most of the time. Sad, but I need to give a little. I plan to build something for the living room PTZ soon and stick it outside. That is where I was always going to put it, it has just got pushed back on my list for a while. But look it here, after two years or so this site has finally started becoming what I always wanted. Well, except the design part! But a little at a time I guess.
For Christmas this year, my wife told me to order some things to finally get into all grain brewing! I can't wait to make my first batch. Might be able to shot for the middle of January.
I am sure I will be missing those last little things, and wont even know it until I am in the middle of the brew.But it will be fun. Oh, and I am still missing one more brew pot. So I guess I will need to spend a$100+ to purchase a used beer keg. They are far to hard to find now-a-days.(Legal kegs anyway). So I will need to buy one. I wont bother to bitch about the keg I HAD for this. But I will tell you I will never see it again.
Enough for now. Look for the kitchen camera soon. I will keep adding cameras as long as I can! Wife did say that once the cameras make it to the second floor, or third floor, she is gone. And since I do like her, I guess I will keep them down stairs!

I broke into my second bottle of Rogue Imperial India Pale Ale. I only had two bottles, and I took one bottle to a meeting and was nice enough to share. Had I knew how good this beer was, I would have drank it in the basement.With no one to watch, and without pants. Don't get me wrong, I like to share. But at this time my cash runs low. And this beer is GOOD. $16.00 good? I don't know. If I was rich, it would be GOOD everyday. I haven't been brewin' beer, so my taps run low. I spent too much time on Mead. But in a year or so, I will have a good bit on hand to drink. On the plus side I hope to be jumping into all-grain in the next month or three. I hope my beers go to the next level.

On the website side, I have a third desk top computer up and running. The keyboard and mouse needs to be replaced. The monitor is old and a little big, but it works for now. And after running some major software on this computer (Thanks Travis), I only found about 1700 problems.The computer is still over loaded with programs and software that isn't needed. I wish I could take it back to a copy of XP and nothing else but I have no idea how to do that. So, I am running it as is. I added a few programs, but haven't add webcamXP yet.
I hope to have two webcams up soon.(soon as I pick up two of the cheap ones). One for the dining room, and one for the kitchen.Later when I find some video cards, I will add a few more cameras. But so far it is just running Seti at home, and what ever else is in the background that I haven't gotten rid of yet. I don't have a restore disk, and I am not smart enough to restore the computer without one. But like I said, it is running. I am going to fix up a slide show of family photo's in the next week or so, set up a link to the desk top, and let her run. Hell, only 4 people come here anyway, and they don't look around too much. But I will just pretend this computer is a big picture frame.

Sick

I wont go into details. I wont tell you how much time I have spent(sitting) in the little room in the house with a trash can in my hands as fluid leaves my body two different ways at the same time.
Oppps, sorry. But I will tell you, it is bad. Real bad. And as a big drinker, I have had my days of tossing my cookies. But never with this much force. For two days I have sipped on water, only to loss it later. I did manage to eat two crackers on Tuesday, but nothing else. I am sure I picked this up from my boy. When you send them off to pre-school they are going into a germ factory. He has also been expelling fluids with lots of force.
You know it is bad if I haven't had a beer for close to three days now!
Well, the cameras are still up. I need to reset some of them every day. And once in a while one of my computers will crash taking 3 cameras with it. But, I am still working on the site. Hope that by the 1st of the new year I will have the kitchen and dinning room cameras up. I will not leave these cameras on at all times, the wife doesn't like the ones I have, let alone add more.
Speaking of the site. I have my first donation! After many months, someone decided to send me some money! It was a little bit of a joke when I added the Donate button, and didn't believe anyone would ever click it. So I guess it is ok that the button was somewhat of a joke that the person who donated sent me $0.05 US

Time is going to fast for me. Not sure how many more ticks I have left on my clock, and it keeps going past me. I still need to get the lights and decorations up! Thursday is our day off, and the day we try to get those little things done. So I was going to get the outside lights and stuff up, but the day has already been planned out. Hope to have something up in time to take it down....
Today was a bad day at work. As most are now, but this day ended very bad. I will post more on that later. Not in the talking mood about sad things tonight.
Looking at taking the guest book off. Just taking up space, and only a few have signed it. But people can't get to this blog most of the time either.
For Christmas I would like 365 bottles of Rogue XS IIPA. If you gotta ask, well you don't know beer. But let me tell you, it is by far the best India Pale Ale I have ever had. So if you have $5,475 dollars or so, and you can even find this beer, feel free to send it my way!!!!! hehe

Site problems

I can't get on my site today. I could from work, and when I got home. But it is now off.
I am not sure what is going on just yet. I thought it was a server issue, and the server monkey just needed a Nanner, but now I am not sure. The server is not here at my house, it is at a friends. The only reason I am confused is because I see that a few people are watching my cams...?. I have three people on the back computer and two on the front computer. If it is a server isssue, why are these people able to get on? I thought it was my laptop so I tried other computers, IE, Foxfire, and now I am lost. Anyway, I am sure this isn't a big deal. Just goes to show you how little I know about web shit.
Camera's are up and down. Server problems once and a while. Power supply issues. And a geek wanna be who can't figure it out......

Camera move

I have moved the Back Yard camera indoors. the cold was just to much for it. I think. Not sure if it is the power supply or the camera. The video did not get better after the move.So I went and changed the camera. The PTZ1 that I used instead has better video, but it is loud when it moves.
I have a number of these cameras, and each one has one little problem or the other. It is getting far too hard to find these Picturetel cameras. You might find one on E-bay once and a while, but those days are gone.I also have some Ptz2's. These cameras are even better, but they have tiny little belts that stretch out, once that happens the movement is shot. Everyone I have is in need of new belts.
Need a flat panel computer monitor, and a few more video input devices, and I will have a few more cameras up and running.
Also working on a Mash Tun. The cart,cooler, and pumps are done. I have a manifold and sparge arm built, just need to finish them up.Drill some holes, cut some slots, etc.
The fittings, new burners,grain crusher, hoses, etc. Will cost a bit, so I am on hold the finished project. Same with the computer.
But, I gotta say. Besides money problems. Problems at work. Employee problems, etc. I have been feeling good. Fat as ever, but feeling good.
Now, just to get past Christmas, take care of the problem issues at work, and figure out how to make more money.

Almost time to cook. Well, not really. I deep fry. Once you drop a bird in 4 gallons of oil, you will never go back to the oven. This year I will be cookin' up a 14Lb. bird and a 6Lb. breast.
That is the other problem with deep fried turkey. Don't seem to have the left over meat like we did in the days of oven cooking. So I am going to toss the extra breast in while the bird is resting.
And oil doesn't take as long as oven cooking. The bird will be done in less then an hour. Will also free up my oven for other things.
Will start the bird around 4pm. YUMMMMMMMM.

Still problems with my two outdoor IR cams. They freeze up once or twice a day now. Is it because they are getting too cold? I don't know. The PTZ has video problems in the cold also. I will bring the camera in for the winter in a few days. Nothing much to see out back now any way.

Also problems with people getting on my blog here. For whatever reason when you click the link to this blog, it adds a 20%, or %20, or on foxfire, it adds something. Then you get the blog can't be found. If you remove the extra crap at the end it will take you here. Not that you will know this if you can't get here in the first place.
Not like this is the place to be, but it is a fun little hobby.

I thought it would be fun to put up the guest book. Thought I might get to read a few post from the people that visit my site. Forgot that no one comes here. From the three that have signed it, one was family. So I guess two people ain't too bad for a sad little site in West Virginia. But yes, I know nothing goes on in front of the cameras that people really want to see.

Wife's B-day is the 19th. Hope to spend some time with her. She will be out with the mother most of the day, and I guess I will go to work. Not that I can pay bills with out money, but I do have some taxes that are due the 20th, so I better find a way to pay them I guess. It is just hard to go back to walking the streets after putting on this much weight.

Been working a bit on a mash tun for all grain brewin'. I will post pictures later, but it wont be ready for a good while. Still need a lot of fittings, hoses, etc. and money is getting tighter then ever before. But I hope by next summer I can make the jump to all grain. Better beer dontcha know. Or so they say.

Christmas (not the holidays) but frickin' CHRISTMAS, is just around the corner. Guess I better sharpen my axe. This year I might need to "borrow" a tree from someones yard....hehe

I have been wanting to write about the world today, or more to the point the USA, but I can't get out what I want to say. And no amount of bitchin' will matter. Even from me. The king of bitchin'.
On a positive note, I was tryin' to pick up a few things for the wife's b-day, and I was in a different state close to a great beer store. I stumbled on some bottles of Rogue XS Imperial India Pale Ale. They had four bottles. I had cash for two. I will kick myself later for not mugging,holding up, or otherwise coming up with the money for the other two bottles. But, at $14 something a bottle, I should be happy with what I did pick up!

Chili Cook off tonight at 6pm

Not that the day is here, I will tell you about my chili. Didn't want the others to see it until tonight. But they don't read, visit, or look at my site! So not sure why I act like this chili will be stolen...I like to pretend sometimes that people read this, and that things like my receipts are looked for...I started with an idea for a pumpkin chili, and found one that looked good. Then I changed everything about it.. I just cant leave things alone. The meat was changed from cubed turkey to Mild ground Italian sausage and ground turkey breast. After that, I go out on my own. I added onions,garlic cloves,yellow and orange peppers diced up and cooked up in olive oil. Chicken broth pure pumpkin, black beans, lots of diced tomatoes, green chili's, diced jalapenos, and think salsa. Also dashes of parsley,chili powder,oregano, cumin,red pepper,paprika,red hot, etc.
It is now on the stove again for a slow warm up over the next 6 hours or so.
Going to carve a pumpkin to serve it out of.
If the awards for best chili look half as good as they did last year I want one!

The first Saturday of November is Teach a friend to homebrew day. Is it always fun to get others hooked on your hobby. The more people that brew, the more beers you get to try!
Since I belong to the local Homebrew club, it would be a great chance to try to drive up our membership. Food, beer, and brewin'.
But, we will not be doing that. Instead we will be having the chili cook off this day. It will be at my house, same as last year. It will be fun, and I shouldn't gripe. Just don't understand why this club doesn't do more. Or try to get our membership up.
Anyway, I will be cooking up a pumpkin chili this year. It is the season and all.Might even have a pumpkin beer to match it with.

Been rainin' on and off for about 18 hours now. Pool cover is starting to collect a good bit of water. Last year I didn't take care of it like I should, so this year I will try a little harder.
I kegged two beers yesterday. An Extra Pale Ale, and a big IPA. Hope the hop flavor comes out in both. I fill force carb them some time today, then we will know.
My back has been messed up for a month or so now. It is in the muscle. But always hurting. After moving the beers, lifting them up and over the edge of my chest freezer, oh, and helping Travis remove the steps from his pool, I am hurting. Hurting bad. I had to roll out of bed into the floor this a.m.. Plan to eat something soon just so I can take something for the pain.

Going to host a chili cookoff here at the house on November 1st. The beer club is coming over, so should have lots of beers and chili on hand. Can't wait.

Our trip to Asheville,NC is now over.
It was a great trip. Lots to see and do for me while the wife was in class.
The food, beer, breweries, and people are all worth seeing. Or, eating,drinking...?
I have never seen so many damn hippies in one place before, but not a problem.
I ran to work today to try and catch up on a few things, and will do that same Tuesday. Then back to work full time on Wednesday.
Oh,,,, it is late and already Tuesday..
Having more troubles with cams freezing up, and that damn %20 that shows up when you click the blog link. But, I now have a third computer to set up somewhere in the house. My mother and her husband had to drive 3 or 4 hours to bring their dog to us to look at. It is a sick puppy. Anyway, we made it back home from our trip and met the family at the house and ran over and opened the hospital. An hour or so later, they were back on the road. Left me an old computer to fix and play with. Will use it here for the website, or as a back up for work. If I do use it for the site, will need to get my hands on some more video input devices, cameras, etc. But that is the way I am headed. Will need a new hard drive, memory, and a copy of windowsXP. So it will be a while.But who knows, might have two to four more cameras up soon....
Feeling better last few days. Well, my back is shot, and my knees are gone, but I am tryin' to feel better about life. I bitch a lot, little to damn fat, and get mad to easy. Seems like the mountain air helped me in the head.

I wanted to do this site when I was on the road all the time. I wanted to see my family. I wanted friends and family to be able to stop in once and a while. I also liked the security side if the cameras. Well look here, 5 hours on the road, 5 states in one day and I am in Asheville, NC.

And every damn camera I have, all fucking six of them are down. ALL FUCKING SIX of them.
My babysitter, asked if once in a while she could shut down the livingroom camera, and I said no. NO.... Just push the chair in front of it I said. Well five hours on the road, and I fire up my laptop. Three cameras are gone. This morning, the other 3 are gone.
How can I see my kids, how do I know the house is OK? The cats? The dogs? Wife wanted to be able to see the kids as we called every day. Now we wont be able to..... These damn cameras have been up for a long fucking time with no troubles.... A power outage here and there, but always up.... Now I want them, and they are gone.
I don't give a shit if some people don't understand this little hobby. Hell, I am not sure why I want cameras up in my house..... But I do know one thing.... It is MY FUCKING HOUSE...........
Can't wait to hear the reason. Power went out, kids messed them up,,,,, But all six cameras??? Two computers???????
